Wine tasting:

Greenish yellow, bright and sparkling.
Complex nose, rich and with stone fruit, a touch of reduction, and some herbal notes from the variety. Spicy, with smoky and woody undertones.
On the palate, it is dry with a hint of fresh acidity, yet also rich and smooth. A wine of notable persistence, broad and glyceric, ready to play with your emotions. That acidic, saline, and mineral finish will make you think. Haha.

Wine name and harvest year: Sofros "P&M" Albarín 2023.

Designation of origin: Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León.

Production: 2.000 bottles.

Viticulture: This wine is made from the Albarin variety, sourced from a 50-year-old, bush-trained vineyard located in the municipality of Villamañan (León) at an altitude of 765 meters. Climatic year 2023: We can say it was the hottest since records began. Due to the unusual temperatures—especially in the second half of the year, which were somewhat more moderate with average temperatures between 18 and 19 degrees—our vines achieved proper ripening. The 2023 season was one of the rainiest in recent years, and the aforementioned heat episodes led to an earlier harvest. Even so, we can say that it was a vintage of very high quality.

Soil: Alluvial terraces of stony clay, with excellent drainage and good aeration.

Vineyard age: 50 years.

Pruning system: Goblet.

Grape harvest: September 9th, in wicker baskets of approximately 15 kg.

Grape variety: Albarín.

Packaging:

Format: 6 bottles on carboard box.

Pre-fermentation process:

Duration: 1 hour.

Temperature: 12 °C.

Alcoholic fermentation:

Duration: 22 days.

Temperature: 12 °C.

Malolactic fermentation:

Partial.
Crianza en barrica de 225 l. Tostado lava volcánica: Lías en suspensión con batonage durante dieciséis meses.

Physical-Chemical properties:

Alcoholic strength by volume: 13% vol.

Total acidity content: 6,2 g/l

Residual sugar: <1,5 g/l.

pH: 3,2.

Clarification: Natural with cold.

Filtration: 0,45 micron when bottling.
